From Snack to Full Course Meal: My Journey Back to Consistency

This morning, I woke up and my alarm said 04:04 am. Some might’ve rolled over. But I didn’t. I got up. I don’t know what the number meant, but maybe it was an angelic nudge whispering, “Let’s try again, babe.”

Let’s be real—I’ve been slacking on my goals. I knew it. My body knew it. My spirit was tired of waiting for me to show up. But yesterday, I finally did.

I got through work without distractions. Didn’t even order takeout (because listen, I’m not on doeboy funds right now). I stopped at Shoprite, fueled up my car, and fueled up my commitment. Even ‘Black Mirror’ didn’t stand a chance—I hit pause when I needed to.

And you know what I realized? It’s not that I’m lazy. It’s that I’m inconsistent. That’s the true thief. I even told my sister, “I’m lowkey jealous of folks who can do the same thing every day for a year. Meanwhile, I see a shiny object and forget my whole life plan.”

But I’m ready now. I’m not just trying to be a “snack”—I’m working on being the whole meal.

Here are the 5 (+2) goals I’m locking in and build consistency:

My comeback season on building goals and consistency

The 7 Power Goals: Expanded for My Comeback Season

1. Emotional Cord-Cutting & Power Retrieval. No more daydreaming about someone who isn’t pouring into me. My imagination is a powerful tool, but not a playground for unavailable people. If they’re not pursuing me with purpose, it’s time to snatch back my energy like it’s on clearance. I visualize a big red stamp: DISTRACTION DENIED. Through daily meditation, scripture, and prayer, I remind myself: I am not lacking. I’m just calling my power home—piece by piece. I’m cutting invisible cords and sealing energy leaks with love and finality.

Affirmation: “I release what no longer serves me. I call my power back and return to myself.”

2. 30-Minute Walks: Movement is Medicine. I always tell my clients: “Break big goals into digestible pieces.” So why does 30 minutes feel like an Ironman challenge sometimes? That's that executive dysfunction at play. But the truth is—I’m not lazy. I just need to outsmart the resistance. These walks are non-negotiable. They aren’t for the 'gram. They’re for me—to reduce anxiety, boost circulation, and get this body moving again. I’m walking through self-sabotage and straight into my healing era.

Affirmation: “Each step I take is a step closer to my highest self. Movement fuels my momentum.”

3. Meditation, Prayer, & Journaling: The Soul Triad. Skipping soul work is like skipping leg day for your spirit—you can’t flex spiritual growth if your foundation is wobbly. So every morning, I pour into my soul before I let the world siphon from me. I write, I release, I realign. Whether I’m crying in cursive or praising in prayer, this is my sacred space to show up raw, real, and ready.

Affirmation:“I start my day grounded, connected, and aligned with divine purpose.”

4. Cleanliness & Organization: Peace in My Space. I’ve been “meaning” to buy those $10 bins from Home Depot for weeks. But no more delay. I want peace when I walk into my home—not a side-eye from clutter and chaos. Each drawer I clean is a declaration: I deserve to live in a space that reflects the calm I’m cultivating inside. I’m not just cleaning my home—I’m resetting the vibe.

Affirmation:“A clear space equals a clear mind. I deserve a peaceful environment.”

5. Gut Health & Nutrition: My Second Brain, My First Priority. My gut has been sending S.O.S signals for months, and I’m finally listening. Bloating, mood swings, cravings—all tied to that second brain in our bellies.I’m cutting back on takeout, prioritizing fiber, drinking water, and introducing enzymes to support digestion. I'm learning to eat to heal—not to numb, not to pass time. I'm not perfect, but I'm being intentional.

Affirmation:“My gut is healing. I eat for energy, wholeness, and vibrant health.”

6. Hydration: Flow Over Force. 64+ oz of water isn’t a cute suggestion—it’s my lifeline. When I’m dehydrated, my mood drops, my skin dulls, and my body feels stuck. Water is prayer in liquid form. It cleanses me, grounds me, and keeps me flowing. Hydration isn’t just about health—it’s about high frequency.

Affirmation:“I nourish my body with water and self-love. I am flowing and refreshed.”

7. Meal Tracking with MyFitnessPal: Mindful, Not Obsessive. This isn’t a punishment. This is self-awareness. I’m logging my meals to track patterns, progress, and energy—not to chase a number on a scale. I honor my body by noticing what fuels me and what drains me. It’s about education, not restriction. I’m tracking with love, not shame.

Affirmation:“I honor my body by being mindful of what I consume. I track with love, not shame.”

Bonus: Wall Pilates – Because Stillness Doesn’t Mean Stagnation Just 5-10 minutes a day. That’s it. I'm showing myself what consistency actually looks like in the little moments. The quiet stretch. The slow burn. The strong core—inside and out.

Affirmation: "Small efforts compound. My body is strengthening with every breath.”

I’m creating a weekly tracker, speaking daily affirmations, and staying accountable. Because I’m done flirting with my potential. I’m dating it seriously now.
