Ladies, It Might Be You.

I’m a woman, of course I know everything. Of course I communicate perfectly. Of course I’m not the problem! Right?

Wrong.

As women, we sometimes let our feelings take the wheel and forget that our significant other has feelings too. We assume that it’s just a male trait to lack communication skills, but are we really as flawless as we think? Could some of our not-so-great communication habits be sabotaging our relationships?

Welp, I found out the hard way.

AI Said My Boyfriend Is the Better Communicator—The Betrayal!

In a recent article on Business Insider, a woman did the unthinkable: She let ChatGPT analyze her entire chat history with her boyfriend. The result? AI said her man was the better communicator.

She uploaded the entire WhatsApp chat history between her and her boyfriend into ChatGPT. The system said:

  • My boyfriend loves me.

  • He communicates better.

  • He puts in more effort.

I’ll admit—I was low-key surprised at the results. ChatGPT analyzed 23,299 messages in under five seconds and basically told her, “Sis, he’s carrying this relationship.”

The Shocking (and Humbling) Results

With all the delusion of a woman who thinks she’s nailing relationship communication, she sat there expecting ChatGPT to crown her the Queen of Emotional Intelligence. Instead, it handed her boyfriend the title of Healthiest Communicator.

According to AI, while she talks about feelings, her boyfriend demonstrates his emotional availability through action—initiating check-ins, planning activities, and showing consistent care. You know, the stuff that actually counts.

The system even pointed out the numbers:

  • Her boyfriend had asked 4,541 questions in their chats.

  • Meanwhile, she only asked 2,175.

Ouch.

Even worse, ChatGPT had the audacity to say he cared more. It's reasoning? Effort equals care. Since Greg put in more effort, the AI concluded that he cared more. Talk about a gut punch.

Who Actually Communicates Better—Men or Women?

You’d think women would automatically win the communication crown, right? Not so fast.

Studies indicate that while women are more sensitive to interpersonal cues, they also tend to display more negative communication behaviors in relationships. You know—preaching, reprimanding, and recriminating.

Meanwhile, men are often more direct and assertive, which can actually come across as healthier communication. Less fluff, more clarity.

3 Female Communication Styles That Can Wreck a Relationship

  1. Preaching and Moralizing. Its easy to slip into preacher mode when you’re frustrated. But sermonizing in a relationship? Not cute. "Boy, you need Jesus,” might be funny to your girls, but using moral superiority to criticize your partner’s behavior (like his partying habits or who he follows on Instagram) only makes him feel judged, not supported.

  2. Reprimanding and Playing the Victim. Let’s be real, ladies—we know how to play victim better than a Netflix drama. Blaming him for liking some cute girl’s pic on IG as if your work husband didn’t just buy you lunch? That’s called selective outrage. Reprimanding or guilt-tripping your man only fuels resentment and makes him less likely to be emotionally open in the future.

  3. Recriminating and Blame-Throwing. Blaming your partner for every relationship hiccup? Big mistake. Constantly criticizing or pointing out his flaws might feel justified in the moment, but it creates emotional distance. Instead of solving the problem, you’re pushing him away.

The Takeaway: Ladies, We Might Need to Step Up

The hard truth? We’re not always the communication queens we think we are. Sure, we may be more expressive, but expressiveness doesn’t always equal effective communication.

If ChatGPT taught me anything, it’s this:

  • Consistency > Big gestures.

  • Effort > Emotional grandstanding.

  • Listening > Preaching.

So next time you’re ready to analyze his every move, maybe ask yourself if you’re communicating effectively too.
